Health Guarantee

This Health Guarantee is between the original buyer and the seller. Your puppy comes with a (1) year HEALTH GUARANTEE that covers genetic health defects for a period of one (1) year from the date of birth.

You should notify Alaskan Husky Kennel immediately, if your puppy becomes ill, isn’t eating well, or shows any unusual signs of distress for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of purchase.

You have forty-eight (48) hours from the time of purchase to have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian. We recommend scheduling this appointment before coming to pick up your puppy or arranging delivery.

If your puppy is found to have any life-threatening or genetic defects, you must notify the seller immediately and provide to the seller a written veterinarian’s statement that includes the complete diagnosis of the puppy’s condition within 24 hours of diagnosis. We reserve the right to have the diagnosis verified by another veterinarian of our choice and/or require you to have specific tests run on the puppy to verify the diagnosis.

If my puppy dies and I request a replacement puppy, I understand that I must have a necropsy performed by a Laboratory, at my expense, to determine the cause of death. My puppy will be replaced or refunded, only if the death was caused by a covered genetic problem or an illness that my puppy had at the time of purchase.

Your veterinarian should check your puppy within 2 weeks from the date of purchase. If your veterinarian feels that the puppy is not healthy, and has a life-threatening illness, have him write a letter describing the problem. I will have the condition confirmed by my veterinarian. If the condition is validated, you may return the puppy for a full refund, or I will provide a replacement puppy.

If your puppy dies within the first year from a congenital defect, he/she will be replaced at no charge. An autopsy must be performed to determine the cause of death, and a letter from your veterinarian must state that the cause of death was congenital. If you breed your puppy during the first year, this guarantee is no longer valid.

If the puppy is replaced, it will be replaced with one of equal value as soon as one becomes available and only after the puppy and all papers have been returned (in satisfactory condition) to the seller unless the seller determines a
refund is more appropriate. The buyer is responsible for providing all transportation and transportation-related costs of transporting puppy/puppies. The puppy must not be euthanized without prior written approval from the seller or this guarantee is void. You understand that your puppy will only be replaced if health problems are life-threatening and are attributed solely to a hereditary problem and are not due to accident or injury. We will do our best to replace your puppy with one that is as close to your puppy’s size and color as we can but we do not guarantee that a replacement puppy will be the same size or color.

The decision to provide a refund is at the sole discretion of the seller and a replacement puppy is our usual choice.

Failure to follow the medical advice and/or treatment instructions of the veterinarian or seller will void this guarantee.

Seller is not responsible for any veterinarian bills after leaving our home unless previously agreed to in writing by Seller.

Seller does not guarantee the size, color, hair length, texture, temperament, and/or house-training abilities of your puppy.

No refunds or replacements will be given for conditions that affect a puppy’s ability to breed as the seller does not normally sell a puppy with breeding rights. If a puppy is sold with breeding rights the buyer understands that the seller makes no guarantee as to the puppy being of breeding quality or ability. Only select puppies that we believe are of breeding quality will ever be offered with breeding rights.

The buyer agrees that the puppy will be a pet and spayed or neutered at the appropriate time recommended by your vet unless agreed to in writing by the seller.

Alaskan Husky Kennel does not cover internal or external parasites, hernia, undescended testicles, under or overbite, injuries, allergies, heat exhaustion, or hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia is preventable with good care and feeding. Because a luxating patella, hip dysplasia, or collapsed trachea can be caused by injury, they are not covered if they are not discovered during your veterinarian’s initial examination. Kennel cough and other communicable diseases are not covered after your veterinarian’s initial examination.

This HEALTH GUARANTEE is void if the buyer fails to meet any of its terms and conditions.
